Wholesale Rings for Bags, Belts and Clothing

O-rings, D-rings, rectangular and oval rings in metal and plastic for straps, bags, belts and clothing – in various widths and finishes, direct from the manufacturer.

Rings – the connecting element of straps

Rings are closed or open loops through which straps, webbing and belts pass. They connect the different parts of a product, let a shoulder strap move freely and serve as an anchor for snap hooks and metal buckles. Beyond their function, rings are also a strong visual accent – a chunky D-ring on a bag or belt instantly defines the style. Polkom, a manufacturer and wholesaler of garment accessories, offers wholesale rings to makers of bags, small leather goods, clothing, backpacks and pet accessories.

Types of rings by shape

  • Round (O-rings) – versatile, suitable for straps, key rings and decorative details.
  • D-rings – with a straight side that keeps the webbing flat and a rounded side for attachment. The most used shape for bags and belts.
  • Rectangular and square rings – for flat webbing and straps that need to lie without folds.
  • Oval rings – decorative rings with a soft silhouette for fashion collections.
  • Triangular rings – for attaching snap hooks and on backpacks.

Welded and non-welded rings

Rings made of bent wire can be welded or have an open seam. Welded rings withstand higher loads and are used on shoulder straps, belts and products that carry weight. Non-welded rings are more economical and suit decorative elements and light accessories. Zinc alloy rings are cast in one piece and have no seam, which gives them a smooth, premium look.

Sizes and materials

Ring size is defined by the inner width, which should match the strap width. The most popular widths are around 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50 mm. Metal rings are made of steel, zinc alloy or brass, while plastic rings are made of polyacetal (POM) or polyamide. Plastic rings are light, do not rust and suit sports bags, backpacks and swimwear.

Finishes

We offer nickel, gold, antique brass, gunmetal, black, matt and polished surfaces. Choose the finish to match the buckles, zip pullers and other hardware on the product. For larger runs, colour coating matched to a sample is also possible.

Rings with a logo and custom shapes

Cast zinc alloy rings allow a logo, engraved lettering or a custom profile to be added – for example a ring with bevelled edges, a flat face or an integrated brand mark. A detail like this turns a simple connector into a recognisable accent on a bag or belt. For production to your design, we first prepare a sample for you to test with your strap and material.

Where rings are used

  • Handbags, backpacks and wallets
  • Leather and textile belts and straps
  • Clothing – adjustable belts, jackets, dungarees
  • Pet collars and leads
  • Key rings and accessories

For straps that need adjusting, rings are combined with buckles and strap adjusters, and for decorative accents with zip pullers and metal plates in the same finish.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the ring size?
Go by the width of the strap or webbing that will pass through the ring. The inner width should be equal to or slightly larger than the strap so it does not bunch. For example, for a 25 mm strap choose a ring with a 25 mm inner width. With thick leather, leave a little more room.
Should I choose a welded or non-welded ring?
If the ring will carry weight – for example on a bag strap, belt or lead – choose a welded or cast ring that will not open under load. Non-welded rings are suitable for decorative elements and light accessories where tensile force is low. If in doubt, we will advise you.
Is there a difference between metal and plastic rings?
Metal rings are stronger, heavier and look more premium, so they are preferred for leather bags and fashion belts. Plastic rings are light, do not rust and do not irritate the skin, so they are used in sports bags, backpacks, swimwear and children's products. The choice depends on the load and the style.
Can I order rings in a specific finish?
Yes. From stock we offer the most popular finishes – nickel, gold, antique brass, gunmetal and black. For larger runs we can produce rings in a finish or colour matched to your sample, so they coordinate with the rest of the collection's hardware. Send an enquiry with the details.
