Eyelets Wholesale – 7 Series, 60+ Sizes, with Your Logo

Round and oval brass eyelets with washers from 6.1 to 63 mm – standard, flat, mesh, shaped, custom logo and tarpaulin eyelets. Exact technical dimensions, nickel-free finishes, a sample before production and delivery across Europe.

An eyelet is a small metal ring with a big responsibility: it protects the hole from tearing, guides the cord or lace and gives the product a finished, professional look. At Polkom we offer eyelets in almost every size – round and oval, from 6.1 mm for fine laces to 63 mm for truck tarpaulins and yacht covers. For clothing, footwear, belts, bags and technical textiles. Large eyelets for curtains and tarpaulins are often also called grommets. Here you will find our seven series, the exact dimensions of every item, how to choose an eyelet for your material and how to get eyelets with your logo.

Which eyelet series to choose

The choice starts with the product and the material: how thick the fabric or leather is, what will pass through the hole and what load the eyelet will carry. The table below is a quick guide, and below it you will find the detailed dimensions of each series.

How to choose the right size

Three dimensions define the right eyelet: the inner hole (d), the barrel height (H) and the outer flange diameter (D).

  • The inner hole (d) should be about 0.5–1 mm larger than the cord, lace or tape that will pass through it.
  • The height (H) depends on the total thickness of the material at the setting point – the barrel must pass through all layers and leave enough to curl. For thick and multi-layer areas, choose a long-neck model.
  • The outer diameter (D) defines the look and how widely the load is spread. For leather, canvas and tensioned fabrics, choose a wider flange.
  • Double-sided eyelets look the same on both sides – suitable for products that are also visible from the inside.
  • Eyelets with an inner ring are stiffer and more stable under heavy load and frequent use.
  • If in doubt, send us a sample of the material and the cord – we will suggest the exact item.

Finishes and colours

Brass eyelets and washers are made in a finish of your choice from our finish chart – from classic nickel and antique brass to gold, copper and black nickel. All our finishes are nickel free – nickel and black nickel are only colours – which is an important requirement for childrenswear and for the European Union market. Ideally, the eyelets should have the same finish as the snap buttons, rivets and cord ends on the product – so the hardware looks like a matching set.

  • nickel (nickel free)
  • black nickel (nickel free)
  • antique brass
  • tin oxide
  • gold
  • copper
  • gunmetal
  • unplated (raw)

Tarpaulin eyelets are also available in galvanised steel. We confirm the finishes available for a specific size on inquiry.

The logo, lettering or pattern is embossed on the eyelet flange – a detail that carries your brand on every product. A logo is possible on selected sizes of the standard, flat and heavy-duty eyelets; mesh, oval and shaped eyelets are supplied without a logo. Send us your logo in vector format – we will suggest a suitable size and finish and make a sample before production.

Setting: how eyelets are applied

Eyelets are set with special dies for each size – on a hand press, a lever press or on motorised and automatic machines. The die must match the eyelet and the washer exactly, otherwise the barrel will not curl evenly.

  • There should be no difference in layer thickness at the setting point – for example a seam or hem under the eyelet.
  • For dense, multi-layer and technical materials, punch the hole first and then set the eyelet.
  • Choose the barrel height according to the total thickness of the material.
  • Adjust the setting force: too hard a blow splits the barrel, too soft a blow does not curl it fully.
  • Check that the die is centred and is not worn or deformed.
  • Send us samples of your material (mock-up) – we will carry out a test setting and, if needed, prepare a technical sheet with instructions for your material.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right eyelet size?
Start with the cord or lace: the inner hole (d) should be about 0.5–1 mm larger. Then check the total thickness of the material to choose the barrel height (H). The outer diameter (D) defines the look. All dimensions are in the tables on this page.
What is the difference between round and oval eyelets?
Round eyelets are for cords and laces with a round cross-section. Oval eyelets are for flat tapes, belts and flat cords – the tape passes through without folding and the load is spread more evenly.
Do you have eyelets for truck tarpaulins and yachts?
Yes. The KT series includes large № 66 eyelets – round in brass and galvanised steel, and oval 60 × 40 mm – with a plain or toothed washer. They are used for truck tarpaulins, awnings, sunshades, yacht covers and curtains.
Can the eyelets carry our logo?
Yes, the logo, lettering or pattern is embossed on the flange for selected sizes of the standard, flat and heavy-duty eyelets, in a finish of your choice. Send us your logo in vector format for a sample.
What are eyelets set with?
With a special die for the respective size – on a hand press, a lever press or a motorised or automatic machine. For thick and multi-layer materials we recommend punching the hole first.
Do you offer samples?
Yes. Send us the item, size and finish – we will send samples and, if needed, carry out a test setting on your material before the production order.
What is the difference between eyelets and grommets?
Essentially there is no difference – it is the same item: a metal ring with a washer that reinforces a hole in the material. “Grommets” usually refers to the large eyelets for curtains, awnings and tarpaulins, while “eyelets” refers to the smaller ones for clothing, footwear and bags. You will find both with us in the KS, KP and KT series.
