Wholesale Grosgrain Ribbon – 3 to 70 mm, 270 Colours

Ribbed grosgrain ribbon in 100% polyester, direct from the manufacturer – heavy, light and matt, in widths from 3 to 70 mm, 270 colours and with your logo to order.

Grosgrain ribbon – ribbed, stable and matt

Grosgrain ribbon is recognisable by its crosswise ribs, which give it density, stability and a characteristic textured look. It does not slip like satin, holds its shape and is easy to sew, so it is preferred for trims on jackets and hats, inner waistband tapes, bag handles and straps, hanger loops, footwear and packaging. As a manufacturer, Polkom offers wholesale grosgrain ribbon in 100% polyester in three versions – heavy, light and matt – in standard widths from 3 to 70 mm and 270 colours.

Standard items are delivered from stock, while special colours, widths and logo grosgrain ribbon are made to order.

Grosgrain ribbon with logo

The dense ribbed surface takes printing well – we print a logo or text by screen printing, fine-detail printing or heat transfer. If the logo needs to be woven rather than printed, see our jacquard ribbons. For every printed order we prepare a sample before the run.

Grosgrain or satin ribbon?

Grosgrain is matt or slightly lustrous, more stable and textured – suitable for functional trims and details that are worn and washed often. Satin ribbon is smooth and glossy and is chosen when the focus is on sheen. For a strong cotton tape with a zigzag weave, see herringbone tape, and all types in the ribbons section.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which type of grosgrain should I choose for clothing?
For clothing we recommend heavy grosgrain – it is dense, stable and withstands frequent wear and washing. Light grosgrain is lighter and is used mainly for packaging and bows, while matt grosgrain sits between the two in thickness and is chosen for discreet fashion details, footwear and bags.
What widths of grosgrain ribbon do you offer?
The standard widths are 3, 6, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60 and 70 mm. To order we also make special widths – 5, 8, 12, 16, 18, 32 and 38 mm, with a minimum of 5,000 metres per width.
Can grosgrain ribbon match the colour of our collection?
Yes. The colour card includes 270 standard colours, and a shade outside it is dyed to Pantone or to a fabric sample. The minimum quantity for a colour outside the card is 3,000 metres. Colourfastness is guaranteed when washed at up to 40 °C.
Can you print a logo on grosgrain ribbon?
Yes – by screen printing, fine-detail printing or heat transfer. The ribbed surface takes print well, so grosgrain is often used for medal ribbons, branded packaging and hanger loops. Before the run we send a sample for approval.
