Wholesale Haberdashery for the Garment Industry

Elastics, ribbons, cords, lace and hook and loop tape direct from the manufacturer – for fashion brands, factories and ateliers. Large stock, Pantone matching and EU delivery.

Wholesale haberdashery for clothing, bags and home textiles

Haberdashery is the group of materials without which no garment is ever finished: the elastic in the waistband, the tape along the edge, the drawstring in the hood, the hook and loop on the cuff. At Polkom we bring these trims together in one place and supply them wholesale to fashion brands, garment factories, ateliers and distributors across Europe. As a manufacturer based in Sofia, we have worked with the garment industry for more than three decades, and we know that haberdashery has to arrive on time, in the right colour and in the width you need.

Our catalogue covers more than 10,000 articles – from buttons and zips to elastics and ribbons – and a large share of standard haberdashery is held in stock. When the standard range does not meet the brief, we produce to order: matched to a Pantone colour, to the client's sample or with the brand's logo.

Types of haberdashery in the Polkom catalogue

Elastics

The elastics section is an overview of all elastic materials and helps you choose the right type for your product. If you already know what you need, go straight to knitted elastic – soft and light, for lingerie, childrenswear and sportswear – or to woven elastic, which is denser and holds its shape in waistbands, belts and workwear.

Ribbons and tapes

The tapes and ribbons page compares the main types of textile ribbon and what each is used for. We offer smooth, glossy satin ribbon, cross-ribbed grosgrain ribbon, sheer organza ribbon and strong herringbone tape for edge binding, seam reinforcement and hanger loops.

Cords

Round and flat cords and drawstrings for hoods, joggers, backpacks, pouches and packaging – in a range of thicknesses, materials and colours. Cords can be combined with cord ends, cord stoppers and eyelets from our accessories section to give you a complete set for the product.

Lace

Lace adds a decorative finish to lingerie, dresses, nightwear, bridalwear and home textiles – from narrow lace trims to wide lace fabrics.

Hook and loop

Hook and loop tape (Velcro), with a hook side and a soft loop side, is a practical fastening for clothing, footwear, bags, sports and medical equipment.

Materials, widths and colours

Most haberdashery tapes are made of polyester, polyamide, cotton or blends, while elastics contain elastomeric yarns (rubber or spandex) that are braided, knitted or woven together with the textile fibres. Widths range from a few millimetres for lingerie and decorative details up to 100 mm for belts, straps and technical products:

  • narrow widths (3–10 mm) – lingerie, face masks, decorative accents, packaging;
  • medium widths (15–40 mm) – waistbands, cuffs, edge binding, straps;
  • wide tapes (50–100 mm) – belts, bag handles, workwear, technical applications.

Beyond the core colours – black, white, ecru, beige and navy – we match colours to Pantone or to a sample you send, so your haberdashery matches the fabric and the other trims in the collection.

Custom and logo haberdashery

For brands looking for a recognisable detail, we make elastics and ribbons with a woven or printed logo, a specific pattern, a non-standard width or a custom colour. Custom production starts with a sample that you approve before we run the full quantity. Minimum quantities depend on the article – send an enquiry and you will receive a specific proposal.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I order different types of haberdashery in one order?
Yes. You can combine elastics, ribbons, cords, lace and hook and loop tape, as well as buttons, zips and labels, in a single enquiry. You get one quote and one delivery, and we check that the colours and materials of the individual articles work together and suit the fabric. For each article, state the width, colour and approximate quantity.
Can you make ribbons and elastics in my collection's colours?
Yes. We work from a Pantone code or a physical fabric sample. Before bulk production we prepare a sample so you can confirm the shade in daylight. This way your ribbons, elastics and cords match the main fabric and the other trims in the collection, and repeat orders keep the same colour.
What are the minimum quantities for haberdashery?
Minimum quantities depend on the article. Standard stock items can usually be ordered more flexibly, while articles in a special colour or with a logo require a separate production run. Send an enquiry with the specific article, width, colour and quantity, and you will receive an exact proposal with options.
Do you deliver haberdashery outside Bulgaria?
Yes. Polkom delivers haberdashery and garment accessories to customers in every European Union country. We work with brands, factories, ateliers and distributors. The delivery method and packaging are agreed when the order is confirmed, based on volume and address, and standard stock items are prepared for dispatch quickly.
