Custom Woven Labels with Your Logo

Woven labels with your logo woven in, made by the manufacturer: durable, precise and premium-looking, in the size, colour and fold you need.

Woven labels: the most durable label for your brand

Woven labels are made on jacquard looms, with the logo, text and background formed by interlacing coloured threads. Because the image is not printed but part of the fabric itself, woven labels do not fade or rub off even after many washes. That is why they are the standard choice for the main brand label on clothing, bags, hats and home textiles.

Polkom manufactures custom woven logo labels for clothing brands, sewing workshops and ateliers across Europe. We prepare the design for weaving, match the colours and make a sample before the production order.

Types of woven labels

Damask

Woven with very fine polyester threads at high density. They allow crisp small lettering and complex logos, and the surface is smooth and soft. This is the most popular type of woven label.

Satin woven labels

A satin base gives sheen and an especially soft feel. Suitable for lingerie, eveningwear and luxury collections.

Taffeta

A coarser, more economical weave with lower density. Suitable for simpler logos and labels that do not touch the skin.

High definition (HD)

Woven with even finer threads for maximum detail, for logos with very thin lines or small text.

Sizes, folds and attachment

Woven labels are made in the size you need, from small size labels to wide brand labels for outerwear. The fold determines how the label is sewn onto the garment.

  • Straight cut: sewn on all four sides.
  • Loop fold (centre fold): sewn into the seam, most often at the neck.
  • End fold: sewn on the left and right.
  • Mitre fold: folded at an angle, convenient for sewing into a side seam.
  • Heat-seal backing: applied with a press, without sewing.

Edges are ultrasonic or hot-knife cut so they do not fray or irritate the skin.

Colours and design

Woven labels usually contain up to several thread colours, including metallic threads for a gold or silver effect. Colours are matched to Pantone or a sample. Your logo should ideally be sent in vector format so we can prepare an accurate weaving design. We will advise on the minimum line thickness and font size to keep the label legible.

Combining with other labels

The woven brand label is usually complemented by care labels with care information and hang tags that hang from the item in the shop. Ordering them together makes it easy to achieve a consistent look.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How small can the text on a woven label be?
That depends on the weave. Damask and high-definition labels can carry quite small text, while taffeta needs larger lettering. Send us your design and we will check whether it is suitable for weaving, suggesting adjustments to the font and lines if needed.
How many colours can a woven label have?
Woven labels are usually made with a limited number of thread colours, including the background. This is enough for most logos. If your design contains gradients or photographic elements, a printed label may be more suitable. We will advise which solution works better for your specific design.
Which fold should I choose for a neck label?
Neck labels most often use a loop fold, where the label is sewn into the collar seam and hangs freely. If you want the label to lie flat, choose an end fold and sew it on the left and right. For T-shirts and lingerie, consider soft damask or satin.
