Logo Zip Pullers – How They Are Made and What to Prepare

Висулки за цип с лого – как се изработват и какво да подготвите

Logo zip pullers are made to the brand's design – metal (die-cast or stamped), rubber (PVC or silicone) or cord pullers with a branded tip. The logo can be raised, recessed, engraved, coloured with enamel or multicoloured on rubber. To get an accurate quote, you need a vector file, the desired size, material, finish and the type of zips they will go on.

The puller is the part of the product the buyer touches most often. That makes it one of the most effective places for a brand – visible, functional and durable.

Types of logo zip pullers

Metal logo pullers

Most often die-cast from zinc alloy. The technology allows complex shapes, a three-dimensional logo and a combination of gloss and matt areas. Thinner, flat models are stamped from brass or steel. Metal pullers are used on jackets, bags, leather goods and fashion collections.

Rubber logo pullers

They are made from soft PVC or silicone in a mould. The logo is three-dimensional and the colours are applied in layers, so a multicoloured design is easy to achieve. Rubber is quiet, soft and pleasant to the touch – the preferred choice for sportswear, childrenswear and outdoor clothing.

Cord pullers with a branded tip

A cord or tape ending in a metal or rubber tip with a logo. Light, they do not rattle and give a sporty look. The logo can also be on the tape itself – woven or printed. See also the cord ends, which are often used in combination.

What to prepare for the inquiry

  • A vector file of the logo – AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. A raster logo has to be redrawn, which takes time.
  • Shape and size – a sketch or reference photo with dimensions in millimetres.
  • Material – metal, rubber or cord, and where the puller will be used.
  • Finish or colour – nickel, gold, antique brass, gunmetal, black, or Pantone codes for enamel and rubber.
  • The zip – type and size, so that the hole and the attachment method can be matched.
  • Approximate quantity – minimum quantities depend on the article and the technology.

Design: what works on a small area

A puller is small, so the logo must be legible at a size of a few millimetres. Thin lines and very small text are lost in casting and in rubber. Practical tips:

  • Simplify the logo – often only the mark or monogram works, without the full name.
  • Leave space between the raised elements so that the mould fills cleanly.
  • With enamel, allow metal ridges between the colours.
  • Think about both sides – the back can carry a slogan, website or size.
  • Match the shape to the hand: the puller must be comfortable to grip, not just look good in a drawing.

How production works

  1. Inquiry with the file, size, material and quantity.
  2. Technical drawing – we propose the execution, thickness and attachment method.
  3. Mould – die-casting and rubber require a mould, which is made once for the model.
  4. Sample – you check the look, weight, colour and fit on the real zip.
  5. Run – after approval, production starts in the chosen finish.

The price depends on the material, size, number of colours, mould complexity, finish and quantity. For a specific figure a request for a quote is needed.

Common mistakes when ordering logo pullers

  • The logo is copied from the website. A low-quality PNG is no good for a mould. Send a vector file with your very first inquiry.
  • The size is chosen "by eye". A puller that looks good on screen may be too big for a pocket or too small for a main zip. Cut a cardboard template in real size and try it on the product.
  • The zip is not specified. If the puller's hole does not pass through the slider lug or the ring is too thin, the whole run has to be reworked.
  • The finish does not match the hardware. Gold on the puller and nickel on the eyelets look like a mistake, not a choice.
  • The sample is approved too quickly. Check the puller on a real product – open and close the zip, grip it with a glove, see how it hangs.
  • Too many details. A complex design on a small area turns into an unclear blob.

The puller as part of branding

A good logo puller repeats the brand's language: the same finish as the metal logo plate, eyelets and rings, the same colour as the label. When all the metal details are from one range, the product looks finished. That is why many brands order pullers together with the rest of the hardware – it makes it easier to coordinate colour and finish.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I order a logo puller without my own shape design?
Yes. You can choose a standard shape – rectangular, oval, round or elongated – and have your logo placed on it. This saves design time. If you want a completely custom shape, send a sketch or reference and we will prepare a drawing for approval before the sample.
Is metal or rubber better for a logo puller?
Metal looks more premium and suits leather, fashion jackets and bags. Rubber allows more colours, is soft and does not rattle, which is why it is preferred for sportswear, childrenswear and outdoor clothing. The choice depends on the product, the style of the brand and how often the zip will be used.
Why is a sample of the puller needed?
A sample shows the real look, weight, colour and feel in the hand – things that do not show on a screen. It is also used to check the attachment to the slider of your zip. Corrections at the sample stage are easy and quick, while after series production any change means a new mould, lost time and unnecessary costs.
Can the puller have a logo on both sides?
Yes, with metal and rubber pullers a double-sided design is possible – for example a logo on the front and a slogan, website or symbol on the back. This is planned when the mould is made and may slightly affect the thickness. State it in your inquiry so that it is included in the drawing and the quote.
