Metal Logo Plates and Badges

Metal logo plates and badges for jeans, jackets, bags, wallets and caps – cast, stamped or engraved to your design, direct from the manufacturer.

Metal logo plates – the label that never wears out

Metal logo plates are badges carrying the brand's name or mark, placed in a visible spot on a garment or accessory. Unlike woven and printed labels, a metal plate keeps its shape and colour for years and conveys quality at first glance. You find them on jeans pockets, bag flaps, wallets, belts and caps. Polkom, a manufacturer of garment accessories, produces custom metal logo plates for fashion brands, bag makers and small leather goods manufacturers.

Production methods

Cast plates

Cast zinc alloy plates allow three-dimensional relief, several depth levels and complex outlines. They suit luxury bags, belts and accessories where the plate is the main decorative element.

Stamped plates

Stamped plates are cut and embossed from brass, steel or aluminium sheet. They are thin, light and economical in large runs, which is why they are widely used in clothing.

Engraved plates

With engraving, the logo is applied by laser or mechanically onto a smooth plate. The method suits fine lines, small lettering and numbered series.

Attachment methods

  • With holes for sewing on – the most versatile option for textiles
  • With prongs that pass through the material and are bent over on the inside
  • With rivets or screws – for leather and thick materials
  • With posts and a backing plate – for bags and rigid surfaces

Finishes and colours

We offer nickel, gold, antique brass, antique copper, gunmetal, black, matt and polished looks, brushed (satin) surfaces and combinations of gloss and matt on one plate. The logo can be filled with Pantone-matched enamel so it stands out against the metal. Denim calls for aged finishes, while fashion accessories favour smooth mirror surfaces.

Sizes and placement

The size of the plate is determined by where it will be placed. On the waistband or back pocket of jeans, small plates a few centimetres long are usual, while on a bag or backpack flap the plate can be considerably larger. The curvature of the surface, the material thickness and whether the plate will be subject to friction must also be considered. On soft textile products, a thinner, lighter plate does not distort the fabric.

How a plate is made to your design

You send us a vector file of the logo, the size, shape and attachment method you want. Our team prepares a technical drawing and a sample for you to check on the product. Once approved, production begins. If you also need textile branding, see our labels, and for a unified look pair the plate with metal buttons in the same finish.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a cast and a stamped metal plate?
A cast zinc alloy plate allows three-dimensional relief, several levels and complex shapes, so it suits luxury bags and accessories. A stamped plate is cut from sheet metal, is thinner and lighter, and is more economical for large clothing runs. We will advise you which method suits your design.
How is a metal plate attached to fabric?
Most often the plate has holes for sewing on, but it can also have prongs that are bent on the inside, rivets, or posts with a backing plate. The method depends on the material and placement – sewing is convenient for textiles, while rivets and posts suit leather and bags.
Does a metal plate withstand washing?
Yes, with the right metal and finish. Brass and steel plates with a quality finish do not rust with regular washing. Enzyme and stone washing of denim can change the finish, so in such cases we recommend testing a sample together with the fabric beforehand.
What do you need to make a plate with my logo?
We need a vector file of the logo (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG), the size and shape you want, the finish and the attachment method. If you only have a sketch, we will help turn it into a technical drawing. We then make a sample for approval before starting production.
