L (ligne) is the traditional unit for button diameter: 1L ≈ 0.635 mm, so 40L ≈ 25 mm. For L2 col 925, for example, 14L corresponds to 9 mm.

Will the button withstand washing and ironing?
A polyester button keeps its shape, colour and shine through washing and ironing. When ironing at high temperature, do not press the iron directly onto the button.
