Wholesale satin ribbon – a smooth sheen for clothing and packaging
Satin ribbon is the most recognisable decorative ribbon: its face is smooth and reflects light, and its handle is soft and slippery. The effect comes from the satin weave, in which the warp yarns float over the surface for long stretches. As a manufacturer, Polkom offers wholesale satin ribbon in 100% polyester – double-face, single-face and matt – in standard widths from 3 to 70 mm and in an extensive colour card. The ribbon is used for bows, trims and bindings on lingerie, garment hanger loops, childrenswear and formalwear, furniture and home textiles, and gift and luxury packaging.
We work with clothing manufacturers, ateliers, packaging companies and distributors across the EU. Standard items are delivered from stock, while special colours, widths and logo ribbons are made to order.
Types of satin ribbon

The edges of satin ribbon are woven and do not fray, and polyester keeps its colour and shape after repeated washing.
Satin ribbon widths
The standard widths are 3, 6, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60 and 70 mm. When an exact match to a pattern or packaging is needed, we also make special widths – 5, 8, 12, 16, 18, 32 and 38 mm.

Pantone colours and colourfastness
The standard satin ribbon colour card contains 270 colours – from white, ecru and pastel tones to rich fashion colours and black. If the shade you need is not on the card, the ribbon is dyed to Pantone or to your sample.

The high fixing temperature ensures an even colour along the whole length of the reel and fastness to washing. When you enquire, tell us how the product will be cared for – washing and ironing temperature.
Winding and packaging
Narrow ribbons are wound on plastic spools, and wider ones on cardboard reels with flanges, which can be printed on request. The wound length depends on the width and the reel type:

Satin ribbon with logo
We print a logo, brand name or message on satin ribbon – by screen printing, fine-detail printing or heat transfer. These ribbons are used for branded packaging, hanger loops, gift sets and promotional materials. If you prefer the logo to be woven in rather than printed, see our jacquard ribbons. Before the run we prepare a sample for approval.
Satin or another ribbon?
For a more stable, ribbed and matt ribbon, choose grosgrain ribbon. For a light, sheer effect, organza ribbon is the right choice. You will find a comparison of all types in the ribbons section.
