What silver cord ends look like
Silver is a bright, mirror-like finish with a neutral cool tone. It does not bring “warmth” like gold, nor does it weigh down the product like dark finishes, so it looks natural next to both white and black fabric. In the light, glossy surfaces reflect the surrounding colours, so the cord end slightly “picks up” the tone of the product.
An important note: “silver” is the colour of the finish, not the material. If you are looking for a more muted, aged look in the same range, take a look at the Antique Silver finish, which is matte and patinated.

The only thing worth checking is warm palettes such as camel, mustard and brown: next to them silver can look cold, and antique brass or gold will be more harmonious.

Silver as a set with other metal accessories
Silver is rarely a stand-alone detail. A hoodie may have eyelets for the drawstring, cord stoppers, a zip and snap buttons, and a backpack may have buckles and rings. The more metal details a product has, the more important it is that they are in one tone. Different materials and shapes reflect light differently: a polished tube looks brighter than a matte buckle, even when the colour is “silver” on both. So order samples of all the accessories and compare them on the fabric, under the same light in which the products will be photographed for the online shop.
Durability and care
Sportswear and children’s clothing are washed often and at higher temperatures, so a check before the production run is essential:
- wash a sample of the product at least several times on the cycle you will state on the label;
- check that the cord end does not loosen – for thick cords choose a model with a locking pin, such as NK-105 or NK-106;
- avoid chlorine bleach and abrasive cleaners, which dull the glossy surface;
- recommend washing in a laundry bag or inside out.
