Furniture handles for every front
Furniture handles are the detail we touch dozens of times a day – when opening a kitchen cabinet, a drawer or a wardrobe. They have to be comfortable, sturdy and suit the style of the furniture. Polkom is a manufacturer of furniture handles for furniture factories, kitchen studios, cabinet and office furniture makers and retailers. We offer standard sizes, long profile handles and custom models – in any colour and with your logo.
Furniture handle sizes
The key parameter when choosing cabinet handles is the hole centre distance – the distance between the two screw holes. It must match the holes drilled in the front, especially when replacing old handles. We offer handles with the following standard hole centres:
- 16 and 32 mm – for small drawers, boxes and children's furniture;
- 64 and 96 mm – the most common sizes for kitchen and cabinet furniture;
- 128 and 160 mm – for wider drawers and cupboard doors;
- 192, 224 and 256 mm – for large fronts, chests of drawers and wardrobes;
- 320 mm – for tall doors and modern kitchens;
- long handles up to approx. 512 mm – for tall cabinets, wardrobes and minimalist design.
The overall length of the handle is greater than the hole centre distance – it depends on the model and how far the handle extends beyond the holes. For custom designs we can also make a non-standard length.
Types of handles
- bow (D) handles – the classic shape, easy to grip;
- profile and flat handles – for modern kitchens with clean lines;
- bar (T-bar) handles – round or oval cross-section, often in inox or black;
- decorative and classic handles – with relief, curves and an antique finish;
- handles with an insert – metal combined with wood, leather or a contrasting colour.
For small doors and drawers in the same style, see also our furniture knobs, and for classic chests of drawers – our drop handles.
Materials
We make furniture handles from zinc alloy, aluminium, stainless steel and steel. Zinc alloy allows detailed, decorative shapes to be cast with weight and a solid look. Aluminium is light and suitable for long profile handles. Stainless steel withstands moisture and frequent use – a good choice for kitchens and bathrooms. Steel is used for more massive models and powder-coated handles.
Colours and finishes
We offer chrome, satin (matt) chrome, gold, matt gold, black, anthracite, bronze, antique brass, antique copper, inox (stainless steel look) and rose gold, as well as two-tone handles – for example black with a polished face. Powder coating is available in any colour, so the handle matches the front or the interior. All metal handles are nickel free. You will find the range on the metal finish colours page.
Custom furniture handles with logo
For furniture brands and hotel projects we make handles to your design – in a specific length, cross-section and colour, with an engraved logo or monogram. This makes the handle a recognisable element of the collection. Before series production we prepare a sample so you can check the grip, the colour and the fit to the front.
How to order
Send us the hole centre distance, the model you want, the material and colour, as well as the approximate quantity. We prepare a proposal and a sample, and after approval, series production and delivery across Europe. Minimum quantities depend on the item – send an inquiry via Contacts.
