Furniture mechanisms – functionality that saves space

Furniture mechanisms turn a sofa into a bed, lift the mattress to reveal a storage box, let an armchair swivel and hide a whole table or ironing board inside a cabinet. Bed lift mechanisms and sofa bed mechanisms

In the bedroom and living room, the mechanism decides how easy a piece of furniture is to use every day. We offer:

• bed lift mechanism (lifting / gas lift bed fitting) – raises the frame with the mattress and gives easy access to the storage box under the bed;
• sofa bed mechanism – turns the sofa into a comfortable bed for sleeping and back again in one movement;
• armrest and backrest mechanisms – allow the armrest or backrest to be adjusted to several positions.

Swivel base for armchairs

A swivel base for an armchair lets the seat turn without moving the whole piece – practical in living rooms, hotel rooms, lobbies and offices. We offer two main types: with a round plate and with a 4-star base. The base is mounted between the seat and the legs or directly under the armchair body. Pull-out and fold-away systems for tables and cabinets

Aluminium pull-out systems are the answer for spaces where every centimetre counts – kitchens, small apartments, campervans and caravans, tiny houses and hotel rooms. When the table or ironing board is not in use, it disappears into the cabinet or drawer. The main types are:

• pull-out table in a drawer or cabinet – the top slides out on rails and slides back in;
• pull-out table with scissor lift – the top comes out of the cabinet and rises to a comfortable height;
• built-in ironing board system – the board is hidden in a cabinet or drawer and unfolds in seconds;
• pull-out table rail with support leg – for longer tops, where the leg takes part of the load.

Materials and finishes

The mechanisms are made of steel (cold-rolled DKP steel) with powder coating, of aluminium, and with plastic parts where quiet, smooth movement is needed. We offer several finishes:

• galvanic plating;
• electrostatic epoxy paint in many colours;
• liquid paint.

The colour can be matched to the furniture or to the other accessories in the series. All metal parts are nickel free.

Fitting and technical data

The mechanisms are fitted with standard bolts (M6), and the rails of the pull-out systems are mounted parallel to each other so that the top runs straight and without jamming. Load capacity, dimensions and mounting holes are specified in the technical data sheet for each model. For a stable construction you can also use our furniture connectors and fittings.
