Elastic with logo is a woven jacquard elastic where the brand name or symbol is integrated into the fabric’s structure rather than printed on top. This ensures the logo does not fade or crack with washing and stretching. It is mainly used for visible waistbands on lingerie, boxers, leggings, sportswear and pajamas.
What is jacquard elastic with logo
Jacquard elastic is woven on narrow fabric looms with a jacquard mechanism that controls each thread individually. This allows a repeating logo, text, geometric pattern or combination to be displayed along the length of the band. The colours come from differently dyed threads, not surface printing.
The base is usually polyester or polyamide, with elasticity provided by woven elastane or rubber threads. Elastane is preferred for lingerie and sportswear because it is lighter and more durable under frequent washing.

How to prepare your design
Jacquard weaving has its limitations. The better the design preparation, the clearer the logo will appear on the finished elastic.
- Vector file – send the logo in AI, PDF or SVG format, not as a photo.
- Simplify details – thin lines, small serifs and gradients are hard to reproduce. Thicken fonts if very thin.
- Limit colours – usually two to four colours give the cleanest result. Specify Pantone codes.
- Consider the repeat – the length over which the logo repeats and whether there is blank space or a figure between repeats.
- Account for logo height – letters should leave room for edges and sewing zones.
Elastic width with logo
The width determines how large and legible the logo can be. For men’s boxers and briefs, bands between 30 and 40 mm are common; for women’s lingerie, narrower bands; for sports leggings and shorts, 40 mm or more when the waistband is high. Consider also the seam: if the elastic is sewn with a coverstitch machine, part of the width will be covered by seams.
Colours and collection coordination
The main band colour and logo colour are chosen by Pantone or fabric swatch. It is advisable to coordinate the elastic with logo colours with other brand elements – for example, woven labels on the neck or side – to give the collection a unified look. On a dark base with a light logo, contrast is best; tone-on-tone logos are more discreet and elegant.

How to sew elastic with logo
Visible elastic with logo requires more attention when sewing than hidden elastic in a tunnel because every uneven stitch is visible.
- Logo direction – agree in advance whether the text should read outwards when worn and mark the face side of the roll.
- Centering – for boxers, the logo is often centred front or back. If the repeat is longer, calculate the elastic length so the logo falls in the same place on each size.
- Seam – use a coverstitch or flatlock machine with thread matching the base colour so the seam does not cross the logo.
- Joining – overlap ends or join them end-to-end with tape to avoid visible thickening.
Care for products with jacquard elastic
Jacquard elastic tolerates normal home washing, but elastic threads dislike high temperatures. Recommend care labels with washing up to 40 °C, no bleaching and no high heat tumble drying. This preserves both logo and stretch much longer.
Sample before production
A sample is always approved before producing elastic with logo. Check the sample for:
- logo legibility from normal distance;
- colour match with Pantone and fabric;
- stretch – sew the sample into a real product and wear it;
- behaviour after several washes – colour, shrinkage and elastic recovery.
