A round eyelet bunches a flat cord together and wears it, while an oval eyelet lets it lie flat. Which size for which cord
You choose by the width of the cord: the length of the opening should be slightly greater than the cord width. For hoodies and joggers the most common choices are:
- an opening of about 10.7 × 5 mm – for flat cords up to about 10 mm;
- an opening of about 15.7 × 4 mm – for flat cords up to about 15 mm;
- an opening of about 21 × 5 mm – for wide cords and tapes up to about 20 mm.
