More about CRZ 0032
CRZ 0032 fits garments such as shirts and polos, trousers and skirts, children's clothing; sizes from 14L (9 mm) to 48L (30 mm) let you use the same button on the front, sleeves and pockets. Polkom has been making buttons for over 30 years, and CRZ 0032 is part of our range for shirts and polos, trousers and skirts, children's clothing – a natural corozo button in brown with four holes. CRZ 0032 covers a wide range: 14L (9 mm) works well for collars, cuffs and fine blouses, while 48L (30 mm) is used for heavy winter coats and statement buttons.
Material
Corozo combines hardness, the ability to be finely turned and excellent dye uptake, which is why it is used for buttons on quality shirts, suits and coats. The corozo pattern is fine and unique – the button looks alive rather than artificially uniform. In a dark shade the corozo pattern is more discreet and the button looks dense and calm.
Colour and pairing
Brown buttons are the traditional choice for British-style menswear – jackets, waistcoats and wool coats. Brown is a deep warm tone from the earth palette – a classic colour for autumn and winter collections.
On beige, cream, olive and blue fabrics a brown button looks warm and finished. On a cardigan in cream or olive a brown button emphasises the fastening and adds cosiness. Tip: a brown button softens navy and grey clothing and is a more casual alternative to black.
Design and details
The rim around the face makes the button fuller and protects the stitching from wear.
Choosing the size
On shirts, 18L (11.5 mm) is the standard for the placket, 14L–16L (9–10 mm) for button-down collars and cuffs, and 20L (12.5 mm) for heavier flannel and denim shirts. For trousers and skirts, 24L–28L (15–18 mm) is usually used on the waistband and 20L–24L (12.5–15 mm) on the pockets.
Sewing on and buttonholes
Four holes give a choice between cross and parallel stitching – a firmer hold in areas under strain. Guide to buttonhole length (diameter plus button thickness): 14L (9 mm) – approx. 11–12 mm; 24L (15 mm) – approx. 17–18 mm; 28L (18 mm) – approx. 20–21 mm. Make a test on the same fabric.
Frequently asked questions
Will all CRZ 0032 buttons have the same pattern?
Corozo is a natural material: the veins of the kernel and the way each button takes the dye vary slightly. Size and shape are identical, and the difference in pattern is a mark of genuine corozo.
How should I care for garments with corozo buttons?
Yes, corozo buttons withstand normal machine washing and dry cleaning. Do not use chlorine bleach and do not iron directly over the button.
What garments is the colour of CRZ 0032 suitable for?
The brown CRZ 0032 button suits autumn and winter garments – jackets, coats, cardigans; it sits tone-on-tone on camel and brown fabrics.
