Sewing on and buttonholes

The shank on the back lets the button sit upright over the buttonhole without crushing the fabric – especially practical for coats and heavy fabrics. The buttonhole length is roughly the button diameter plus its thickness: 18 mm – approx. 21–23 mm; 22 mm – approx. 25–27 mm.
