Custom woven labels are made in several steps: you send an inquiry with your logo, size, material, and quantity; receive an offer and design proof; approve a sample; then serial production starts. The more complete your initial inquiry, the faster you get an accurate offer and fewer corrections later.
When to order custom woven labels
Standard size or blank labels work for ateliers sewing single pieces. But once garments are marketed under your own brand, the label with your logo becomes part of the product. It carries your brand, enables batch tracking, and shows mandatory composition information. That’s why even small brands usually switch to custom labels with their first collection.
What to include in your custom woven label inquiry
- Logo or design – preferably in vector format.
- Label type – brand label, size label, care label, or a set.
- Material – satin, polyester taffeta, cotton, or woven label. If unsure, describe the garment and we will recommend.
- Size – width and length in millimetres after folding.
- Folding – straight cut, centre fold, end fold, or mitre fold.
- Colours – of the tape and logo, with Pantone codes.
- Quantity – total and by variants (e.g. by size).
- Attachment method – sewn into seam, around perimeter, or iron-on.
- Desired deadline – so we can realistically plan samples and production.
Order process steps
- Consultation – we clarify material and technology based on the garment.
- Offer – based on size, material, number of colours, and quantity.
- Design proof – actual size design for approval.
- Sample – a physical label you can touch, sew on a garment, and wash.
- Serial production – after written sample approval.
- Delivery – within Bulgaria and EU countries.
Why the sample is a mandatory step
The screen can’t show how soft the label is, how it feels against the skin, or if the colour matches the fabric. The sample answers all these questions. We recommend sewing it on a real garment, wearing it, and washing it at the care label temperature. If something is wrong – stiff edges, too small text, insufficient contrast – correcting it now costs much less than after serial production.
What determines the price
The price of custom woven labels is individually determined. The main factors are:
- technology – printing or weaving;
- label tape material;
- label size;
- number of colours;
- folding and cutting (ultrasound, thermal, edge folding);
- number of variants – e.g. different sizes or article numbers;
- total quantity.
Therefore, we cannot give an approximate price without specific parameters – send an inquiry with your label details and approximate quantity to get an exact quote.
How to plan a label series
If preparing a whole collection, consider all labels at once. The brand label, size label, care label, and hang tags should look like a family – with consistent fonts and colours. This makes ordering easier and ensures your brand looks consistent in stores.
What to check on delivery
- Compliance with the approved sample – colour, size, folding.
- Text readability on all variants.
- Correct data on care labels – fibre percentages, symbols, country of origin.
- Quantity by variants matches the order.
How to choose material if unsure
You don’t need to know all technical terms to order. Describe the garment – type, fabric, target wearer, washing method – and you will get a recommendation. Roughly:
| If the garment is… | Usually chosen |
|---|---|
| fine lingerie, baby clothes, blouses | soft satin with soft edges |
| t-shirts and sweatshirts | woven label or satin folded at edges |
| jeans, jackets, outerwear | woven label or cotton tape |
| care label in mass production | polyester taffeta or printed satin |
| eco and organic collection | cotton tape |
Typical delays and how to avoid them
Orders are usually delayed not in production but in preparation: missing vector logo, unclear colours, composition data changes after approved design, or sample waiting long for feedback. Prepare final text and files before inquiry and assign who approves the sample in your team. This keeps the process smooth.
Reorders
After the first order, design and parameters remain saved, so the next order is simpler – just specify the article and quantity. If you change composition or add a new size in the meantime, tell us to update only that variant.
It’s good practice to keep a short specification for each label: article code, material, size, folding, Pantone colours, and a photo of the approved sample. This way you and the manufacturer share the same reference. If a new employee handles orders, they will know exactly what to request, and labels in future collections will look consistent with previous ones. Plan reorders in time – before stock runs below the needs of the next production, not when labels run out on the machine.
