Light gold cord ends (Light Gold, code LG) are metal end caps for cords in a soft, light, glossy tone close to champagne. They finish the cord elegantly without “shouting”, which is why they are a preferred choice for lingerie, loungewear, bridal and evening fashion, children's clothing and home textiles. At Polkom the Light Gold finish is available for all 64 metal cord end styles.
What light gold looks like
Light Gold is lighter and cooler than classic Gold. The yellow in it is muted, so the metal looks fine and almost like jewellery. The gloss is retained but is not as saturated: on light fabrics the cord end is perceived as a natural continuation of the product rather than a contrasting spot.
This finish is convenient when the collection combines several light metal details – bra fastenings, small rings, pearl buttons, fine zips. If these accessories are already in a champagne or pale gold shade, LG cord ends will complement them. The tone in photos is approximate; on inquiry we send a sample for you to compare with the other details.
Where light gold cord ends are used
Lingerie and loungewear
Pyjamas, nightdresses, robes and loungewear sets often have thin cords at the waist or neckline. Small cone and sphere cord ends in light gold finish them delicately and do not weigh down the light fabric.
Bridal, evening and womenswear
Dresses and blouses with ties, corset backs, capes and boleros in chiffon or satin. Here the metal detail must be refined but unobtrusive – exactly the role of Light Gold.
Children's and baby clothing
Light gold looks good next to white, powder pink and mint. For children's products choose smaller and rounded styles and check the strength of the attachment – the cord end must not be able to come off when pulled.
Home textiles
Decorative cushions, tie-fastened covers, gift pouches, textile baskets and curtains with ties. In the bedroom and living room, light gold harmonises with brass and golden furniture details.
Combinations with the cord colour
Light gold loves the pastel palette. The following work best:
- ecru, ivory, white and powder pink;
- mint, lavender and pale blue;
- light grey and beige – for calm, “quiet” collections;
- satin and silk cords in the colour of the fabric.
On a very dark background – black or graphite – light gold loses its effect and can look pale. Classic gold or black oxide is stronger there.
An interesting option is a two-tone cord – for example white with a beige or golden thread. Light gold continues the warm thread and makes the link between cord and metal feel natural. The same applies to satin cords with a slight sheen: the gloss of the fabric and of the cord end complement each other.
Suitable styles in Light Gold
For delicate products we recommend smaller, clean shapes. The code leads to the style's card with all dimensions, the profile and the colours.

If the cord is flat, also look at the other flat cord ends for tapes.
Common mistakes when choosing light gold
- A style too large for a light fabric. With chiffon, jersey and satin, a heavy cord end pulls the cord down and distorts the neckline. Choose small spheres, thin tubes or the small NK-101 cone.
- Different shades on one product. Light gold next to classic gold or brass looks like a mistake. Request samples of all visible metal accessories.
- Guessing the opening by eye. Satin and silk cords compress and fray differently from cotton ones. Send us a sample of the exact cord.
- Skipping the wash test. Lingerie and pyjamas are washed often, so testing with the actual programme is essential.
Care of light glossy finishes
Lingerie and loungewear are washed often, so care matters:
- recommend a delicate programme and a laundry bag;
- avoid bleach and chlorine-based products, as well as prolonged contact of the metal with perfume and cosmetics;
- do not iron directly on the cord end – turn the product inside out or use a cloth;
- test a sample of the finished product with the actual washing programme stated on the care label.
Ordering and samples
Choose the style from the metal cord ends page and add the code LG – for example NK-701-LG. The minimum quantity is 1000 pcs per style and colour. Send us the cord or its diameter: the openings in the catalogue are approximate and we confirm them with a sample. For the larger flat and geometric styles we can also discuss an engraved logo.
