Polyester buckles are the detail that turns a simple fabric belt into a statement piece. At Polkom, we manufacture polyester buckles using the hand-casting in moulds method – each buckle is poured by hand, with care and precision. This allows us to create any size, colour and shape you need, not just a few standard models.
How a hand-cast polyester buckle is made
We first make a mould in your desired shape and size. Coloured polyester resin is then hand-poured into the mould. By layering and mixing pigments, we achieve the desired effect – horn, tortoiseshell, amber, marble or granite. Once cured, each buckle is finished, sanded and polished until the edges are smooth and the surface is glossy or matte.
This is why two horn-effect buckles are never exactly alike – each one has its own natural pattern, just like real horn.
Any shape, any size, any colour
Hand-casting gives us the freedom to manufacture virtually any model:
- Round buckles and rings – the classic choice for dress and trouser belts;
- Oval buckles – for soft fabric belts with floral or graphic prints;
- D-shaped buckles – for cotton belts and grosgrain ribbons;
- Open crescent buckles – the belt wraps around with no prong, for a striking and easy look;
- Rectangular buckles with one or two slots, and with a centre bar for gathering fabric;
- Asymmetric and large decorative buckles made to your design;
- Buckle and belt loop set in one colour and effect.

Where they are used
Women's dresses
Most often, polyester buckles are used on women's dress belts – shirt dresses, self-fabric belts, beach and summer dresses. The open crescent buckle and round ring let you tie the belt freely, with no holes or prong. See also our designer polyester buckles for women's dresses.
Women's belts
For women's belts – fabric, denim or leather – the buckle is the main feature. Horn and tortoiseshell effects pair naturally with brown and beige tones, while bright shades like coral and navy highlight summer collections.
Swimwear and beachwear
Polyester is lightweight, does not rust and withstands water and sun, making it ideal for swimwear and beachwear.
