That is why for every new item we recommend a sample approved by the designer and the technologist, which is then kept as a master standard for all subsequent orders.
Incoming inspection on delivery
When zips arrive, check the packaging labels against the order, compare a few pieces from different cartons with the approved sample and test the sliders. If you find a discrepancy, report it before the zip goes into production – after sewing, corrections are much more expensive.
Common mistakes in inquiries
- “I need 1000 YKK zips” – without size, length and colour, no quote can be given.
- A colour described in words (“navy”) instead of a number from the card.
- One length for all sizes of the product, followed by rework.
- No information about washing and treatment for denim.
