Wooden buttons give a garment a warmth and natural character that is hard to achieve with any other material. Polkom manufactures buttons in 100% natural wood – boxwood, olive wood and rosewood, as well as in timber grown specifically for industrial use. Every button has its own natural grain and is, at the same time, responsibly produced – whether you need wholesale wooden buttons from our styles or custom wooden buttons to your own design.
Wood with character
- Boxwood – a dense, hard wood with a fine, even texture and a pale yellow tone. Very strong and well suited to thinner buttons with crisp edges.
- Olive wood – a warm tone with striking dark veining. Every button is unique – ideal for premium collections.
- Rosewood – a darker, rich wood with a noble sheen, well suited to coats and jackets.

Styles: any shape, holes and shanks
We produce wooden buttons in any shape and size:
- with a flat or raised rim;
- with a dished centre (saucer style) or a double rim;
- flat buttons without a rim;
- with 2 or 4 holes, including a groove between the holes for a less visible stitch;
- with a shank underneath – for coats and jackets, where the button needs to sit above the fabric.

Wood buttons for clothing: ideal for wool and eco collections
Wooden buttons are a natural partner for wool, tweed, linen and knitwear. They are light, never feel cold to the touch and underline the natural look of the fabric. All our products are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, and we hold the necessary certificates for our wooden buttons. They contain no harmful substances and are suitable for contact with the skin.
